The Bushwhackers were a tag team in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in the 1980s and 1990s. The team consisted of Butch Miller and Luke Williams, both of whom were from New Zealand. The Bushwhackers were known for their wild and zany antics, as well as their distinctive marching style.
The Bushwhackers began their careers as a tag team in the 1960s, wrestling in various promotions around the world. They first gained international recognition in the late 1970s and early 1980s, wrestling in Canada and the United States. In 1985, they joined the WWF, where they quickly became fan favorites.
The Bushwhackers were known for their unique personalities and over-the-top behavior. They would enter the ring with exaggerated walks and exaggerated facial expressions, often licking the faces of their opponents and even the referee. They also had a distinctive march, which involved swinging their arms and legs in unison, while making loud grunting sounds.
Despite their comedic antics, the Bushwhackers were skilled wrestlers, known for their power and agility. They won several tag team championships in various promotions, including the NWA and Stampede Wrestling, before joining the WWF.
In the WWF, the Bushwhackers quickly became a popular tag team, thanks in part to their appearances on the children's show "G.I. Joe." They also appeared in a number of memorable matches, including a feud with The Nasty Boys and a tag team championship match against The Hart Foundation.
The Bushwhackers retired from wrestling in 1996, after more than three decades in the sport. They were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015, recognizing their contributions to the world of professional wrestling.
Despite their relatively short run in the WWF, the Bushwhackers remain a beloved part of wrestling history, remembered for their unique personalities and entertaining performances. Their zany antics and distinctive march continue to inspire fans and wrestlers alike, and their legacy lives on in the world of professional wrestling.
